​When I hear the word “recognition” I automatically think of “acknowledgement from an external source.”   
​With a quick glance at the word’s origin, ‘recognition’ is (surprise surprise) Latin for recognitio(n-), from the verb recognoscere ‘to know again, recall to mind’.

​Sounds a bit like the definition for ‘memory’: “the power or process of recalling…”. The act of ‘remembering’ also comes into play in this post a little later on…)

​Well, surprise surprise, a new category was freshly added to the blog today (like we needed another, but this one is as essential, I promise.) 
A Little Late

I actually had this written yesterday (Mon) but ended up not having enough time* to post with Telus tying up the internet connection here for 5 hours...
​ 
​I know it may not sound like it, but I’m actually really excited about this. It's just that using exclamation points in print/digitally is annoying sometimes because of the way they seem to accomplish the total opposite effect of what's intended (hence wanting to make it look like I’m only slightly eager to introduce this hundredth-and-first Life Up Here category.

(I just had to stop myself from adding yet an exclamation mark right there… obviously this is gonna take some work). 

*Enough time = As an unrelenting proofreader I'm constantly wording and rewording stuff (kind of like the painting you just have to keep going back and tweaking) which is fun and everything but it ends up eating up A BUNCH of time and means most of what I write on here will be works in progress (like it's my bloody last masterpiece on earth or something), i.e.: possibly changing day to day with new thoughts added (like today wedaug17) which maybe people will but prolly not :)
